Twitter has unveiled a revised version of its account management software TweetDeck, after the debut of new feature concepts to increase privacy and user discoverability on its microblogging network. A preview of the updated TweetDeck website is now available to a limited number of users in the United States, Canada, and Australia.
Twitter Rolls Out Redesigned TweetDeck Website
Twitter has handed out a new preview version of TweetDeck to a select group of users, according to the official tweet. The new version has "improved functionality that combines more of what you see on twitter.com," according to the company. You can check out the tweet attached right below.

In an interview with The Verge earlier this year, the microblogging giant stated that it plans to rebuild TweetDeck "from the ground up." Twitter has already added a few new features to the preview version. The new features include a full Tweet Composer, additional column types, advanced search options, and a new way to group columns, according to Kayvon Beykpour, Twitter's Product Lead (Decks).
Twitter is seeking to make its app a more comprehensive account management app for users with these new capabilities. Beykpour says they're "exploring how [they] can give people more customization and control using TweetDeck." through this initial preview test with randomly selected accounts. Furthermore, the development team will “take these lessons into account as [they] explore what TweetDeck could look like within Twitter’s subscription offerings later on.”
How to Try Out TweetDeck Redesign Right Now
If you want to try out the new TweetDeck redesign right now, app reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong published a simple browser tweak on Twitter that allows users to sign up for the preview test.
1. Open the TweetDeck website in a browser on your Windows or Mac computer.
2. Then, right-click anywhere on the website, and select “Inspect Element” from the context menu.
3. Then, click on “Console” in the developer tools window.
4. Paste the following command in the Javascript console and press Enter.
document.cookie = "tweetdeck_version=beta" {codeBox}
5. Finally, refresh the website to see a preview of the TweetDeck redesign.
If, at any time, you want to go back to the current design, you can go back to the Javascript Console and enter the following command
document.cookie = "tweetdeck_version=" {codeBox}
And that's it; you're no longer required to use the new design.
There is currently no information on when the new TweetDeck version will be available globally. We'll hear more about the events in the following days, according to Twitter. If you get a chance to try out the sample version, please let me know what you think in the comments section below.
