Since the 1960s, humanity has fantasized about trips to Mars. We haven't yet sent a human to the surface, but three robots have been launched. In the last ten years, our knowledge about the planet has exploded.

Elon Musk predicts that we will arrive before 2025, but how will we get there? When humans arrive on the surface, what happens? How will we survive, and how will we change Mars into a home worth inhabiting? 

China will send its first rover to Mars in 2020, NASA will send a four-pound helicopter, Europe and Russia will send another rover to look for evidence of life, and the United Arab Emirates will send an orbiter to create the first "real global picture of the Martian atmosphere."
